Member Breakfast Seminar with Facebook on using Blueprint for video content, article by Elías Jabbe

MEPRA members enjoyed an exclusive Facebook Blueprint seminar session revolving around Video with Facebook Business Education EMEA Team Lead Noha Wagih Bashir on February 26, 2019 at Facebook’s Dubai headquarters.

As the first of many complimentary breakfast seminars held in 2019 for MEPRA members, the event set the tone for a year full of learning opportunities. MEPRA members from agencies and in-house teams benefited from Noha’s extensive digital marketing expertise gained at Facebook and previously as a leader at agencies, while also discovering that the Facebook Blueprint online education platform is an invaluable resource to creators.

Following an introduction by MEPRA Executive Director Sabrina De Palma and Rasha Kashkoush, Head of Communications for Facebook Middle East, North Africa & Turkey, Wagih Bashir shared a variety of video best practices for platforms such as Instagram Stories.

Leveraging a compelling argument based on 2017 research from Criteo which stated that 78% of all mobile data traffic will be video by 2021, Wagih Bashir inspired a packed room to tap into their creativity by experimenting with native features on Instagram Stories while creating content.

Some of Wagih Bashir’s key pieces of advice regarding considerations for video on Instagram Stories included:

1. Does it capture attention & deliver a message in 15 seconds?

2. Is the core message clear without sound?

3. Is the asset framed for a vertical asset?

4. Have you previewed your work with Facebook Creative Hub?

Wagih Bashir also recommended the Instagram accounts of Asos (@asos) and skilled origami artist and stop-motion artist White On Rice (@white_onrice) as examples of engaging Instagram Stories.

Following the seminar, Wagih Bashir shared excerpts of the Instagram best practices from her presentation via a ‘Takeover’ of the MEPRA Instagram account.
