Speakers announced for the 2021 Virtual MEPRA Leadership Majlis

MEPRA today announced its line-up of speakers for its seventh Leadership Majlis, which will be held virtually for the second time since the pandemic. The Virtual MEPRA Leadership Majlis will include a series of live sessions over one afternoon on 19th May, 2021 with communication leaders from the Middle East and abroad. Speakers will explore the theme ‘fit for the future’ and address the importance of organisations reinventing and reimagining their brand strategies as audiences continue to evolve.

Free for all MEPRA Members, The Virtual MEPRA Leadership Majlis will open with a keynote from His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications. His Excellency will address how the UAE is pioneering AI technologies to build a knowledge-based economy and shape the future of vital sectors such as communications. The session will be hosted by APCO Worldwide MENA President Mamoon Sebei.

The programme will then follow with an exclusive fireside chat with Sconaid McGeachin, Senior Vice President of Communications Expo 2020 Dubai on how the Expo 2020 Dubai team plans to reconnect the world for a better tomorrow. Seonaid will address how the team navigated the unexpected postponement of its programme, how the pandemic has shaped the 2021 event when it comes to visitor engagement, safety communication and crisis planning, plus how Expo has adapted to align with the rapid transition to digital life, work, and learning we saw as a result of the pandemic.

The Majlis will also include a presentation with renowned Global CMO of Mastercard, Raja Jaramana who will reveal his forward-thinking ways and breakthrough frontier strategies used to navigate the challenges communicators and marketers face to thrive in a modern business world.

MEPRA Chair, Taryam Al Subaihi said:

“The MEPRA Majlis has always been a highlight of the calendar, as we bring together the region’s top communication leaders to discuss the industry’s biggest challenges and opportunities. This year’s event will be held virtually and made free for all MEPRA members so we can encourage as much attendance as possible to debate and address the most pressing topics for the communication profession today. “

“Following on from the 2020 event theme ‘beyond the curve’, this year we want to focus on how we move beyond the pandemic and ensure as communicators we are preparing ourselves for the future of our industry.”

Further topics to be explored include the Employee Experience and Nurturing The Next Generation with speakers from Mubadala Investment Company, Majid Al Futtaim, Memac Ogilvy, New Media Academy, Brazen MENA, Page Group, Four Communications and Kingston Stanley.

The 2021 Virtual MEPRA Leadership Majlis is supported by Mubadala Investment Company, Majid Al Futtaim, APCO Worldwide, CARMA and PRovoke Media.

The event is free for MEPRA Members or AED200 for non-members. To register your attendance or view the agenda for the 2021 Virtual MEPRA Leadership Majlis, visit mepra.org/events/majlis or email community@mepra.org
